Ladies, specifically moms. Be kind to one another. We're all in this boat together. Each of us may be in different stages, but we're all mothers and we all need grace, mercy, kindness, and forgiveness. You never know what someone is going through in their personal lives that even if you're a part of they may or may not be letting you in on. I know feelings can run high and we can tend to react instead of respond. All I ask is that you take a moment to think about what your actions should be before you respond. Are your words or actions something you would like in that circumstance? Are you showing mercy, kindness or forgiveness? Are you showing that person Grace? Just remember that we are all NOT perfect. We all mess up. We all have different areas that we are more worked up over than others. Just take a deep breath and know that God is in control. Sometimes things don't happen the way that we think they should go or be. Relax and give it up to God. I know that is easier said than done sometimes, but it shouldn't stop us from constantly trying to give it up to him.
On a much lighter note I will give you the horror story of the weekend. This is real life parenting and real life what children will do sometimes. I promise he will be okay. I promise that I am not a terrible parent. I don't care what you say about my parenting. My children will always be well taken care of and never put in harms way! If you have anything negative to say about the following thing, please stay quite and keep your comments to yourself. Chances are they are not from God. So the story continues.....
Every morning the boys are allowed to brush their own teeth. At night time I brush them so to make sure they are brushed really good. Sunday morning while I am running around getting everyone ready for church by myself(my husband plays in the praise band so he is not with me on Sunday mornings to help get the kids ready) I hand the boys their toothbrushes to start brushing their teeth and I continue on with getting everything ready. I happen to walk by the bathroom door to see my youngest open the toilet lid in which I think nothing of because he likes to spit his tooth paste out into the toilet water and then watch it flush. Well, thank the lord above that I decided to stay in the doorway to watch for a second because my oh so sweet 2 year old decides that he needs to rinse his tooth brush off in the toilet and continue brushing his teeth! Nothing will get you moving faster than a kid sticking his toothbrush in the toilet and back into his mouth. After I live the horror of this and go through the steps of telling him we don't stick his toothbrush in the toilet I throw the toothbrush away and go about my business. We go to church, we come home, we eat, we play. we nap, we eat again, we play again, and we go to get ready for bed. To my horror someone has found the old toothbrush in the garbage can and put it back into the toothbrush holder. I assure you it wasn't me. I can only hope that it wasn't the same child. I can also hope that he didn't decide to brush his teeth again with it before sticking it in the holder. p.s. I can't promise you he hasn't done this before because he brushes his own teeth every morning. Sometimes I am not in the room because I am trying to get ready. So who knows. I do know that from now on I will be watching or put him out of the bathroom to brush his teeth.
If you're lucky enough you may get to see him smile and show a little teeth.
~Enjoy~
Oh man. That is a hilarious kid you've got there. I love your blog, Felicia!
